I guess this is the best place to start a fresh. Blogoforum has come a long way. The new look is kinda interesting, though I still have to get used to it. :) Somewhere in the recent past I stopped having conversations across the web. One of the primary reason for this was my shift to a career in media, specifically as a Radio Jockey in a local Radio Station here. One of the other reasons was I bought a domain and started my own blog - though, I don't post there too frequently either. :D The one problem that repeatedly comes back to me in all the trawls of the web, is the scattering of my conversations across the place. Comments, Blogs, Profiles, Identities, all of these exist in varied numbers and in various stages of lethargy. Haviung a centralised identity system is scary - at least, I perceive it that way. The other alternative, as I see it, would be to group individual elements in a unique place, while allowing the other identities to flourish as they are. I see that potential here at Blogoforum. To start with, for example, if I could simply pull my RSS feeds here, but at the same time keep a link back to my main blog so that people could return there to comment, it would render my existence so much simple. With most of the web 2.0 start-ups and players accepting XML as a universal 'language' maybe that could be a potential USP for Blogoforum. Maybe I am rambling, but maybe there's a gold mine in that idea. Anyone care to take that up? - 1 reply Mon, 09 Jul 2007 07:45:08 GMT http://blogoforum.com/tag/2.0+blogoforum+cross-pollination+idea+rss+web+xml/pulling-in-rss-feeds-7910.html A New Chinese Web 2.0 Craze http://blogoforum.com/tag/2.0+adventure+china+interactive+internet+web/a-new-chinese-web-2-0-craze-5642.html Hi, Here in China the students have a new Web 2.0 craze, called "The Trekker Diaries". The concept is initiated at Southern China Jimei University. It's an interactive Web 2.0 adventure published weekly. The readers can influence the story by voting. The idea is to give a ( so far unheard) global voice to the Chinese students. This is why the adventures of the principal character, Krem Trekker, are published in real-time in English, too. The Diaries is supposed to be a new entertainment genre between the Chinese "wuxia" (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, etc.) and Western James Bond stuff. There is also a lot of insider information about China, background information, a discussion forum and other material. The good thing is, there are no banners, ads or pop-ups. Thus, it seems non-commercial to me. But have a look by yourself: www.kremtrekker.com Thu, 01 Mar 2007 01:35:20 GMT http://blogoforum.com/tag/2.0+adventure+china+interactive+internet+web/a-new-chinese-web-2-0-craze-5642.html Business Models for web 2.0 http://blogoforum.com/tag/2.0+business+models+web/business-models-for-web-2-0-5547.html I am interested to know and understand various business models floating around web 2.0 Every body is welcome to share thoughts. - 1 reply Mon, 26 Feb 2007 17:07:24 GMT http://blogoforum.com/tag/2.0+business+models+web/business-models-for-web-2-0-5547.html Ajax GUI platforms going kill Traditional GUI platforms! http://blogoforum.com/tag/2.0+ajax+business+development+generation+idea+programming+startup+web/ajax-gui-platforms-going-kill-traditional-gui-platforms-706.html A very small startup Pioneersoft invented very interesting technologies to build online GUI applications: http://cbsdf.com/misc_docs/why-gui-api.htm http://cbsdf.com/misc_docs/gui-api-brief.htm They say, online GUI applications can be build at half the cost compared to comparable desktop applications using an innovative ‘loosely coupled” component based process: http://cbsdf.com/technologies/misc-docs/CF-LC-Figures.htm Also check out cool examples in the web site. If they can do good job in marketing, they can undercut Windows-API and Google’s Ajax lead. What do you think about the viability of the inventions? Who can help the technology best, Microsoft or Google (if they were acquired)? - 2 replies Tue, 25 Apr 2006 15:36:49 GMT http://blogoforum.com/tag/2.0+ajax+business+development+generation+idea+programming+startup+web/ajax-gui-platforms-going-kill-traditional-gui-platforms-706.html
