Add Keywords on Blogoforum

Several days ago Blogoforum introduced another method to improve message classification. Now you can just "add keywords" to a message. This will not bump the message up in popularity or add any replies to it. Blogoforum will just show the message taking your keywords in mind. - 1 reply

I like what you are doing with blogoforum. I am working at something within the same category and I am giving a look at blogoforum, too. I will try to join the conversation. I can't see the new feature, actually. Can you link to an example? - 1 reply

I've just enhanced Blogoforum with "User Interestingness" - the list of user's messages which people think are best. Also a small but nice feature - there's a Fan Cloud of users who are author's fans. Enjoy! I will make the UI more organized tomorrow. - 1 reply

Blogoforum Updates

Blogoforum is updated with new version. Post editing is enabled for registered users. Another interesting feature is that while browsing some forum (say forum on web 2.0 idea) you will notice some topic links are dimmed out. Which means people think the topic is only barely suitable for the forum you are currently browsing.

Spam? Folksonomy Helps

Hi Pete, Welcome to blogoforum. I haven't read the book you are talking about neither have seen complete reviews. I found another interesting thing however. A spammer has created at least 10 del.icio.us profiles and posted the link - http://del.icio.us/url/d4d868895a7ea15fc26864383213d4f7 to his webpage. I think he has tired after 10 submissions. So first thing which works good against spam is captcha. Next thing that helps is folksonomy. On 10 spammers, we can find 100 people willing to mark spam as "spam". People can do this on del.icio.us, people can do this on blogoforum: http://blogoforum.com/forum/tag/feature+forum+idea+talkinghub/new-feature-tag-the-message-you-are-replying-to-231.html That's how I see it for short. Incidentally, spammer's webpage refers to tag and ping website. - 3 replies

Tag Pages Message Selection is Improved

Blogoforum message selection algorithm is changed a little bit to present messages more precisely in accordance to given tag(s) on tag pages. This will help to overcome the mess a little bit.
