I definitely think there is room for improvement with respect to forums. I personally would love to see improved "emergenent" organization of forum topics, as well as improved search of forum topics. Relevancy in retrieval is a major problem. Also, I am curious about how you see Wikis and Forums begining to converge. Although Wiki's are typically a knowledge base application and Forums are intended to be a more active discussion, they definitely both have an active knowledge creation function.
